  • Zack Gross

    Founder

    A filmmaker, improvisor and graphic designer from Herndon, Virginia, Zack has written and directed The Blame Game, produced Harbor View, and directed the upcoming short film Macabre for HMD Films. He will be one of three directors, as well as executive producer on the HMD Films web series Deep Cover. He is also co-host of The Zach and Zack Podcast with Zach Griffin.   • Nathan McFarland

    Nathan McFarland is a filmmaker and musician from Manasas, Virginia whose credits include creator/director for the webseries Deep Cover, and producer for the webseries Absolution.
  • Micah McFarland

    Micah is an accomplished novelist and screenwriter, with a produced play and several film projects to his credit. For HMD Films, he acted as Assistant Director on The Blame Game, directed the short film "Quincy," and wrote and directed the short film "Harbor View." A soon-to-be Mason Film and Video Studies graduate, he is looking to pursue his passion for filmmaking in any capacity.
  • Zach Griffin

    Zach Griffin has been making films for 15 years, and loves working on film in any capacity. Between producing and directing projects, he writes features and short screenplays and works as an editor and associate producer in Washington DC and New York.   • Eric Stenmark

    Starting in live event and stage productions, Eric developed his skills and turned to film, getting his Bachelors of the Arts at George Mason University. Eric works in Washington DC as a animator, editor, and director of photography for corporate and television projects. For HMD Films, Eric was one of the Visual Effects artists and camera operators for "The Blame Game" and is the Director of Photography for upcoming short "Harbor View".   • Ashley Blue

    Ashley made a conscious decision to pursue filmmaking after experiencing "Slumdog Millionaire" at her hometown Regal Cinema in 2009. As a Film and Video Studies major at George Mason University, Ashley realized her passion for cinematography, producing, directing, and above all - editing. Her first short, "A Long Time Lost", won Best Cinematography at the Clifton Film Festival and screened at the Washington West Festival. HMD's short "Wingboys," directed by Ashley and co-produced by Micah McFarland and Zack Gross, has won several festival awards and will screen at the NOVA International Film Festival. Ashley also co-created the GMU Women in Film Week annual event and was a Horizon Award finalist for her short documentary "Kendra." She is currently an assistant editor in D.C. and in the midst of co-writing a feature sci-fi comedy script with Henry Leeker.
  • Evan Shaw

    Evan is a writer and actor from Bristow, Virginia who enjoys writing sitcoms, comedy screenplays, and articles for his blog (www.eventualsitcomwriter.com). His sitcom pilots Faculty & Staff and Mergers & Accusations have won Silver Prizes in the 2010 and 2011 PAGE International Screenwriting Awards. His work has also made it to the second round of the Austin Film Festival and the semi-finals of the L.A. Comedy Shorts Film Festival. For HMD Films, he is currently writing Deep Cover, an action-comedy webseries to be released in 2014.
  • Henry Leeker

    Henry is a screenwriter and content contributor for Hand Me Down Films. He has written in a multitude of different mediums for many years. His published poetry and essays can be read in both Calliope and Poetry Quarterly. His film credits include writing and starring in “Future Wars”. He has also acted in Thang La’s “Inevitable” as well as Hand Me Down Film’s latest short film “Macabre”. Henry is the Poetry Editor at Volition, George Mason University’s Student Art and Literature Magazine. He is currently working on Hand Me Down Film’s next short film, “The Machine”.
